Congratulations to doctorate student Ella Israeli for successfully passing her Ph.D. candidacy exam and approval of her doctorate research proposal. Ella is now a full doctorate student in the Unit of Nuclear Engineering!
Ella’s research deals with the development of advanced optimization techniques for reactor core design using evolutionary algorithms. In her Ph.D. study, conducted under the supervision of Dr. Erez Gilad of the Unit of Nuclear Engineering @ BGU, Ella is studying the usage of neutron transport adjoint problems and their solutions to improve and accelerate stochastic evolutionary-based optimization algorithms. This is an innovative study with broad potential to improve such optimization techniques.
