Congratulations to #doctorate student Roy Gross for successfully passing his #PhD candidacy exam and approval of his doctorate #research #proposal. Roy is now a full doctorate student in the Unit of #Nuclear #Engineering!
Roy’s research deals with the development of advanced #numerical #methods for accurate solutions of the #neutron #diffusion equation, based on the #integral #transport #theory. In his Ph.D. study, performed under the supervision of Dr. Erez Gilad of the Unit of #Nuclear #Engineering @ BGU, Roy is studying and developing numerical #algorithms for enhancing the accuracy of the neutron #diffusion approximation, based on insights and physical quantities derived from the integral transport equation. This study is based on an idea published in 2004 by Prof. Yigal Ronen and is carried out in collaboration with Dr. Daniele Tomatis from #CEA.
